WHY I THINK BITNATION WILL SAVE THE WORLD

by Erik Vollstädt

Ever complained about how you need to work too much for almost no or little reward? Did you suffer a burnout or simply wish you had more free time to devote yourself to the things and people you truly love? I give you the reason, and my solution right with it.

You are government property. You dedicate 70% of your working day to literal leeches, which knew how to turn the existing political system in their favor.  Before we start getting too much into who these influential clans are, you should keep in mind that it doesn’t matter who is stealing from you, much more important is that YOU are the reason they rule this world. Yes, that’s right, for they had no control whatsoever if you wouldn’t be paying your taxes and keep working for companies that enable this lifelong racket. Join the counter-economy and vacate the state.

I myself have believed for a long time that politics was an interesting place to bring innovative ideas for society’s betterment to life, but to me today that was just another stage of my childhood, not something to be believed in as an adult, just like monsters under your bed. If you have a good idea, market yourself and dedicate your life to realizing it, don’t force it upon others at gunpoint AKA taxes. Ideas that need to be violently enforced because no one wants to pay for them are worthless to society to begin with.

But enough for my rambling about the world’s injustices, let’s get straight to the solutions: Form voluntary communities and withdraw your money, time and energy from anything that supports the state. Become an entrepreneur. There is nothing that governments all around the world provide that couldn’t be provided by the free market.

Apart from the ethical argument that involuntary interactions are always unjust and require the threat of initiation of force, be it in the name of the greater good or simply a bank robbery, there’s also a quite rational, egoistic motivation to withdraw your consent and form a voluntary parallel universe: Free market services are subject to the laws of supply and demand, not like today’s monopolistic mafia governments, which need to extort you in order to allegedly protect you and your property (much more likely to actually threaten your life with their loyal thugs, disguised as peacekeepers).

Living in a rulerless society that makes the initiation of force a criterion for exclusion means that market demand and supply there are inherently ethical. Besides that, you can also change society by marketing your ideas and thereby changing demand, with supply being almost 100% linked to demand, as there is no government racketeering and subsidies, bail outs or fiat money bubbles involved.

You might respond that market participants aren’t ready for your ideas yet and that your ideas are so important that they need to be enforced on the spot without respect for property rights, but think about it. Doesn’t that make you a way more barbaric person than the people you were claiming to be too dumb to understand your idea in the first place? Try finding a community that will voluntarily take you as their enlightened guru.

If you say all of this sounds good in theory, but won’t work out in practice, take a look at how much is already working without government interference: Be it restaurants, shoes or eBay, suppliers in all of these branches try to upkeep a good reputation amongst their customers instead of forcing their customers to pay.

If you say this is all cool, but won’t work the same way for the “public goods” the government needs to provide, take a look at Bitnation. They are providing services like law, security and unemployment insurances on a purely voluntary level, accepting the challenge of meeting their customers’ wishes and economizing on their budget, instead of printing new money and forcing everyone to use their services.

If enough people were to use voluntary self-governance platforms like Bitnation, there’d be a viable option to opt out of today’s global tax farms, providing all the services you have already, just much more ethical, cheaper, customer-oriented and of higher quality.

Apart from that, a stateless world will see much more peace and compassion than today’s world.

There are three reasons for that: Without governments financing their wars through inflation and taxation, using their civilians as human shields, warmongers would have a much harder time finding support for their crusades, as everyone involved would have to pay from their private pockets and actually ask soldiers to join them.

Secondly, laws would follow market’ preferences, thereby reducing the amount of prisoners charged of victimless crimes, as they are likely to be considered a thing of the past in voluntary societies.

Lastly, there would be a much greater amount of charities, as general wages in voluntary societies rise continually due to competing sound moneys and progressing efficiency in production processes actually impacting our standard of living instead of being swallowed up by government racketeering AND the possibility to actually save parts of your money and let it work for you through investments since you don’t have to give away two thirds of your income to leeches anymore and don’t need to spend as much on the services you used to beg your government for.
